资源简介:
Electrophysiological recordings using Neuropixels 2.0 multishank silicon probes were performed in the lateral entorhinal cortex (LEC), medial entorhinal cortex (MEC), and area CA1 of the hippocampus in freely behaving adult male rats. Of the nine total rats, three were implanted only in LEC, two were implanted in LEC and MEC, one was implanted in LEC and CA1, and three were implanted in all three brain areas. Rats performed a variety of behaviors with different degrees of event structure. These behaviors include sleep, open field foraging, lap running on a maze, and exploring novel objects in an open arena. The number of individual units recorded simultaneously was from a few hundred to over one thousand units per brain area. Data was obtained from each rat for approximately one week, after which the number of recorded units was too low for our purposes, particularly in LEC. Data include unit spike times, tracked position of the animal, and timestamps of scheduled events. These data could be reused for numerous purposes beyond the scope of the associated article, such as analysis of the coordination between brain areas during behavior.
