SHS_1990-2021_v1

Serious Health-related Suffering (SHS) has been introduced by the Lancet Commission on Global access to Pain Relief and Palliative Care as a new concept, to better understand the amount of global unrelieved suffering in persons with severe illness. This file presents the background data that will allow palliative care and other health care professionals to analyse data for their country or region, or specific subsets for individual health conditions or sex- or age-related differences. Data are presented for time points from 1990 to 2021. Please use the file "Codebook SHS_1990-2021" for information on the item coding.
