RNA-seq libraries of mRNA extracted from 6-day-old Marchantia polymorpha gemmalings of four genotypes: Wild type, Mparf1 knockdowns (Mparf1-kd), Mparf2 knockdowns (Mparf2-kd) and double Mparf1 Mparf2 knockdowns (Mparf1-kd Mparf2-kd). Mparf2-kd plants will eventually have consumed branches where meristems have prematurely differentiated compared to wild type controls. These datasets show that Mparf2-kds are auxin hypersensitive, suggesting that auxin signaling antagonism provided by MpARF2 is critical for meristem maintenance and establishment in the free-living gameteophyte of Marchantia polymorpha, a liverwort model organism in plant science.
