Reindeer herding – Reinbeating area

The data set limits the six reindeer grazing areas that together make up the Sami reindeer grazing area. The right to practice reindeer husbandry within these areas is exclusive to the Sami population. This Sami special right does not apply outside these areas, where a special permit is required to exercise reindeer husbandry on own and rented areas. A reindeer grazing area constitutes an administrative unit for several reindeer grazing districts. The State Manager is the administrative authority in reindeer grazing areas.
