Gut microbiota of antibiotic-treated mice. mouse gut metagenome

C57BL/6 mice were given antibiotics (ampicillin, vancomycin, neomycin, or metronidazole) in their drinking water for one week. Bacterial DNA from the small intestinal contents were isolated. To see the biogeographical distribution of small intestinal microbes, luminal and mucosa-associated bacteria were separately collected. The V4 region of 16S rRNA gene was amplified by PCR with dual barcoded primers, and the pooled amplicons were sequenced on a MiSeq (2 ? 250 bp paired-end reads).
