The intestinal mycobiome of the Chinese population. human gut metagenome

The fungal community, known as mycobiome, is an integral component of the human gut microbiome and plays important roles in the intestinal ecology and human health. Here we collected 572 stool samples from a Chinese cohort aged 18 to 90 years. Of these samples, 74 were collected from subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD). We profiled the human gut microbiome with internal transcribed spacer I (ITS1). This study aims to characterize the fungal composition and diversity of healthy individuals, and looks for associations for different host phenotypes (age, disease, BMI).
