资源简介:
A black and white postcard of two older men at Mission San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, California, USA, circa 1920s. The men stand at the center on a dirt area and face to the left. The man closest to the foreground wears a sombrero; bandana around the neck; a sweater; denim pants; and shoes. He has a full beard and has both hands in the sweater's pockets. The other man wears a dark-colored jacket; collared shirt; home-made belt; light-colored pants; and shoes. He has a goatee and has both arms down at his side. Part of the brim of a hat which he holds in the right hand is visible behind the right leg. Across the back is a wall. A stamp is at the top of the back and reads, "Old Mission / San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / FOUNDED 1776." This is over the words, "POST CARD / CORRESPONDENCE / ADDRESS." At the right corner is a square box which is outlined with the letters, "A Z O." At the center of this is, "PLACE / STAMP / HERE." The image was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With water damage, stains, and warping, the artifact is in poor condition.
