PICO-Extracted Dataset for Early-Life Cadmium and Arsenic Exposure and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes (2015–2025)

The following dataset contains the full PICO-structured data extraction matrix developed for a systematic scoping review examining early-life cadmium and arsenic exposure and associated neurodevelopmental outcomes in fetuses, infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (2015–2025).Studies were screened and extracted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Data were coded using a predefined PICO framework, with exposure operationalized as biomarker-validated cadmium and/or arsenic burden (e.g., blood, urine, hair, placental, or cord matrices), compared against minimal or background exposure groups.Extracted variables include study design, population characteristics, exposure metrics, biomarker matrices, neurodevelopmental outcomes, neurobiological correlates, statistical modeling approaches, and key findings.This dataset is intended to promote transparency, reproducibility, and secondary evidence synthesis in pediatric environmental health research.**This dataset is deposited in advance of manuscript submission and will be made publicly available upon journal acceptance.
