This study focuses on the spotted knifejaw (Oplegnathus punctatus), an economically important aquaculture species, to investigate the relationship between gut microbiota and divergent growth performance. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we analyzed the gut microbial composition of fish with distinct growth rates, aiming to identify key microbial taxa and functional pathways associated with superior growth traits. The findings will provide insights into the mechanisms underlying host-microbiota interactions in fish, and offer valuable guidance for optimizing aquaculture management strategies to enhance growth efficiency and health status in spotted knifejaw farming.
