This catalogue presents the barred galaxy classifications for disc-like galaxies in the KiDS NW-2 field, as presented in La Marca et al. (2025). For each source, we provide the unique HSC-SSP identifier, along with sky coordinates, Kron radius measured in the i-band, the Zoobot model output for five possible morphological classes, and the final classification.
The catalogue includes the following columns:
id: unique HSC-SSP identifier
ra , dec: source sky coordinates
i_kronflux_radius: source sky coordinates Kron radius measured in the HSC i-band
P(Strong bar) , P(Weak bar), P(Unbar. disc) , P(Elliptical), and P(Edge-on): Zoobot output scores for the corresponding classes
P(Bar): total Zoobot bar score (Strong+Weak)
Class Number, Label: Most likely class number and associated class label (1=Strong Bar, 2=Weak Bar, 3=Unbarred)
The sample consists of 5579 disc-like galaxies selected from the parent galaxy catalogue presented in La Marca et al. (2024). We refer to the paper for details about galaxy selection.
The catalogue is provided in both CSV and FITS formats. It is intended for studies of galaxy morphology, evolution, bar presence rates, and the connection between bars and AGN presence. Users should note that the deep learning classifier is probabilistic and not perfect; completeness and purity depend on redshift, stellar mass, and the adopted probability threshold.
