We have recently identified Fam64a as a fetal-specific gene, the primary function of which is promoting cardiomyocyte cell cycle. To gain deeper insight into the molecular function of Fam64a, we analyzed cardiomyocyte-specific Fam64a transgenic (TG) mice driven by alpha myosin heavy chain promoter, which maintains Fam64a expression still after birth, when endogenous expression is rarely detectable.
