资源简介:
Upright stone with megalithic art carved onto three faces, at Grange embanked stone stone circle (SMR No. LI032-004001-), Co. Limerick. National Monument No. 247. The orthostat, labelled by Ó Ríordáin as Stone No. 9, has been split probably before it was inserted into the internal face of the stone circle on the north-eastern side. The vertical surface of the south-west face looking in towards the centre of the circle is completely different from the original smooth round surface of the other three sides which are decorated with concentric circles and other motifs similar to the carvings found on the kerbstones of passage tombs in County Meath. The motifs on this stone were recently identified by Ken Williams. The upright stone is located on the north-east side of the internal kerbing of the embanked stone circle and is the fourth stone to the west of the entrance into the circle.
