The goal at the NH PHL is to sequence the majority of samples that test positive for SARS-CoV-2 for surveillance tracking. Through this surveillance we will be able to monitor the variants that are circulating within our communities and be aware of any changes in variant type. The purpose of this is to track the progression of the virus and understand how it evolves and changes throughout time. SARS-CoV-2 next generation sequencing is a valuable tool for monitoring the prevalence and potential extinction of the virus within a community.
