This study aims to elucidate the genomic basis of adaptive traits in Zhenzhubai (ZZB), a mulberry cultivar showing enhanced tolerance to the challenging environmental conditions of southern China, particularly in the Guangxi region. Our research focuses on generating a high-quality, chromosome-scale genome assembly of ZZB using state-of-the-art sequencing technologies, including PacBio HiFi, Illumina short-read, and Hi-C chromatin conformation capture. By submitting our raw sequencing data to the NCBI SRA database, we aim to provide the scientific community with comprehensive genomic resources for comparative analyses, functional genomics studies, and breeding efforts in mulberry. These data will facilitate the identification of genetic variations associated with stress tolerance, particularly resistance to waterlogging and heavy metal toxicity. Our submission includes raw reads from multiple sequencing platforms, enabling researchers to reproduce our analyses, validate our findings, and potentially discover novel genomic features. This data release aligns with the principles of open science and data sharing, fostering collaborative efforts to enhance our understanding of plant adaptation to environmental stresses and supporting the development of climate-resilient crop varieties.
