TrachMap: Global Tracheophytes Occurrence Database

This is the first version of TrachMap, a georeferenced dataset encompassing global vascular plant (Tracheophyta) occurrences. The database aims to provide comprehensive records of global tracheophytes after removal of spatial uncertainties. To achieve this, raw occurrence data were retrieved from GBIF via API and processed through a series of filtering steps, including deduplication. The resulting dataset comprises 46% of all global tracheophyte records available on GBIF. Due to its large size (~57 GB, uncompressed file), the database is partitioned by family to ensure accessibility and performance on low-spec computers. The files for the 461 families were then combined into a single file and compressed into a ZIP archive. The data is also provided in GeoPackage format.
