This dataset contains the raw data and figure source files associated with a study investigating the virulence characteristics of various Candida auris strains using the zebrafish infection model. Specifically, it includes: Figure 1: Survival curves of zebrafish embryos infected with different C. auris strains over a 96-hour period, compared to a mock control. Figure 2: Quantitative analysis of fungal burden (CFU/mL) in zebrafish embryos infected with five C. auris strains at multiple timepoints. Figure 3.1: Assessment of biofilm formation by Candida species, based on metabolic activity measured via XTT assay at 24 and 48 hours. Figure 3.2: Biomass quantification of Candida biofilms using crystal violet staining at the same timepoints. C. albicans ATCC 90028 was used as a positive control in both assays. Figure 7: Evaluation of chitin content in the cell walls of C. auris strains using Calcofluor White staining and confocal microscopy, including quantification of fluorescence intensity. Supplementary Table 1: Hydrolytic enzyme activity profiles (phospholipase, proteinase, hemolysin) of five C. auris strains compared to C. albicans ATCC 90028. All experiments were independently performed in biological triplicates. The dataset supports the findings presented in the manuscript submitted to Virulence and may be of value to researchers studying fungal pathogenesis, biofilm biology, and host–pathogen interactions in vivo.
