The invention relates to a glue application device for applying glue to particles, a device of an installation for producing pressed boards, a method for preventing the accumulation of glue and/or particles and a method for applying glue to particles. In the method for preventing the accumulation of glue (80) and/or particles (26, 26B) on wall inner surfaces of at least one channel (22) for conveying glue-coated particles (26B), protective air (93) is fed to the at least one channel (22) from at least one side, in a protective air flow direction (92) approximately parallel or oblique to a central flow direction (32) of a particle flow consisting of transport air (24) having glue-coated particles (26B), such that the protective air (93) forms a protective air jacket (132) between the particle flow and at least one wall inner surface of the at least one channel (22). The invention relates to a glue application device for applying glue to particles, a device of an installation for producing pressed boards, a method for preventing the accumulation of glue and/or particles and a method for applying glue to particles.
