Open-field Y-shape trail-following bioassay with O. formosanus workers in different phases of foraging activity.

Four types of workers were used, G (growing phase), S (surging phase), D (descending phase), activated D phase workers (AD). Samples such as (3Z)-dodec-3-en-1-ol (DOE) or (3Z,6Z)-dodeca-3,6-dien-1-ol (DDE), mixture of standards (DOE+DDE in order) were laid down in the base and/or in one of the branch of the bioassay. The same protocol was used as in footnote of Table 3.
