TABLE 1. Chronology (by year and according to page sequence; alphabetically if more than one species was described on a page) of the species (rows 1, 2, and 4–9) described as new by John Gilbert Baker himself and the one new combination (row 3) made by him in Kitchingia, and the one kalanchooid genus he described as new (second row of the Table). Baker described these species and made the new combination during a three-year period, from 1881 to 1884. For the sake of completeness, the two species subsequently described in, or transferred to, Kitchingia by Stapf (1908) (row 10) and Berger (1930) (rows 11 and 12) are also included in the Table. The currently accepted species- and infraspecific-rank nomenclature and subgenus placement (third column, in bold, italic font) of the traced Kitchingia taxa, as well as the geographical origin of the material (fourth column) are also given. To prevent confusion between Kalanchoe and Kitchingia genus and infrageneric names are not abbreviated to their first letters in the Table.
