So far in 2021, of all Austrian federal states, Burgenland had the highest share of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19). After months of research and testing, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Commission approved the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine on December 21, 2020.
