Catalogs for Future Antarctic Atmospheric Rivers in CESM2 - Present-day, 1980-2014

This dataset uses the CESM2 large ensemble (Rodgers et al. 2021, Danabasoglu et al. 2020) to detect Antarctic atmospheric rivers (ARs) in the present-day and 21st century. The catalog is based on the polar-specific AR detection tool developed by Wille et al. (2021), which uses the 98th percentile of poleward integrated water vapor transport and a 20-degree latitudinal extent as the threshold for ARs. Here each file corresponds to one of forty ensemble members from the CESM2 large ensemble, all under the smoothed biomass burning protocol. This dataset consists of the present-day catalogs for Antarctic ARs (1980-2014), stored as three-dimensional arrays with time, latitude, and longitude coordinates, and a binary indicator for the presence of an AR at a given time and location.
