Luberon Park — Fossil Collection

The Regional Natural Park is the manager of the Luberon Geological Nature Reserve. It was created in 1987, by decree, to protect an exceptional geological heritage. This heritage consists mainly of paleontological sites (fossil-rich landscapes) of Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Since its creation, the Luberon NR has been hosting and managing geological collections placed in storage, data and sometimes acquired from individuals, associations or institutions (Museums). The excavation sites organised by the RN also feed the collections. It is a continuous inventory that aims to be completed. Its purpose is to allow everyone to discover this heritage. Access to localised data is limited to users with specific permission.
