Fieldwork Image Dataset of Ukrainian State Museums (2024–2025)

This dataset contains visual documentation collected during field research conducted between 2024 and 2025 in Ukrainian state-run museums. The dataset includes photographs and short video recordings documenting museum exteriors, surrounding territories, interior spaces, and exhibition halls.

The material was collected during field visits to museums located in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Poltava. The dataset covers eleven national and municipal history museums.

The documentation was created as part of a research project examining transformations in Ukrainian museum practices and cultural memory during wartime.

Images and videos document four main spatial categories within museum environments: museum surroundings, museum exterior, non-exhibition interior spaces (such as entrances and corridors), and exhibition spaces.

All files are organized by museum and stored in folders corresponding to each institution. Within each museum folder, files are divided into "photos" and "videos" subfolders when applicable.

Personal images containing identifiable individuals were removed from the dataset prior to publication.

The dataset is intended for research and educational use in the fields of memory studies, museum studies, cultural heritage research, and visual analysis.
