In the present study, we aim to cryopreserve and germinate the potato tubers, so as to look forgenetic variations in the specimen after its germination. Total mRNA from various stages ofcryopreservation and germination was collected and subjected to high throughput sequencingand analysis. The latter provided us with differentially expressed genes that furtherhighlighted the changes in expression of different genes as a result of cryopreservation.Information of these genes are crucial for planning of germplasm conservation.
