Whole genome analysis of Naegleria fowleri kurume. Naegleria fowleri

Naegleria fowleri, a pathogenic amoeba, causes primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM). The molecular biological analysis of N. fowleri kurume, the pathogen isolated in Japan, was conducted to understand its characteristics and pathogenicity, and to develop a rapid and simple detection method of this microorganism. Whole genome analysis of N. fowleri kurume showed that the genome size of this pathogen was 27.61 Mb.
