资源简介:
Calculated permittivity tensors supporting work from manuscript "Combined effects of meltwater and crystallographic orientations control radar anisotropy in temperate ice," (c) C. Seltzer et al 2026.
The data set contains four files; three relating to COF permittivity and one large structure containing permittivity tensors for partially molten ice.
Data for COF-induced permittivity is stored in MATLAB data with the three following variables:
COF_RIx: an array of frequencies used to calculate the permittivity tensor of ice as derived from simulations of melt-free ice in Seltzer et al (2024).
COF_RIy: an array of strains at which the COFs were simulated, and therefore at which the permittivities were derived.
COF_RI_tensors: a 4x6 cell array containing calculated permittivity tensors per the frequencies and strains stored in the x, y variables.
Data for effective permittivity tensors is stored in a nested MATLAB structure format, structured as follows:
e_eff_struct:
1x4 structure with 2 fields: frequency and 'mftest' structure. Calling a line by index 'f' will direct you to substructures calculated at the frequency specified in e_eff_struct(f).frequency.
e_eff_struct(f).mftest:
1x400 structure with 2 fields: meltfrac and 'testb' structure. Calling a line by index 'm' will direct you to substructures calculated at the melt fraction specified in e_eff_struct(f).mftest(m).meltfrac, at the frequency specified in e_eff_struct(f).frequency.
e_eff_struct(f).mftest(m).testb:
1x4 structure with 4 fields. This is where the e_eff tensors are actually stored. Calling a line by index 'b' will direct you to information calculated for ice aggregates with melt at MPO aspect ratio b (1 is spherical inclusions and 0 are needles) at frequency e_eff_struct(f).frequency and e_eff_struct(f).mftest(m).meltfrac.
cell arrays e_effs contain the calculated effective permittivity tensor as a function of MPO angle and strain. The values for MPO angle and strain are stored in e_eff_MPOx and e_eff_STRAINy, respectively. These are the same for all values of b, m, and f.
