Multi-layer cardboard material (10) comprises at least one first fibrous-material layer (12) having cellulose-containing base material， and at least one second fibrous-material layer (14) comprising a mixture of cellulose-containing material and fine material particles， wherein a material of origin for the fine material particles is coco peat and the fine material particles have a particle size < 0.5 mm， in particular < 0.3 mm. The invention further relates to a method for producing a multi-layer cardboard material (10)， in particular a multi-layer cardboard web， comprising at least one first and one second fibrous-material layer (12， 14)， and the use of a fibrous-material layer comprising a mixture of cellulose-containing material and fine material particles.
