**Overview**
The Dawiso MCP Server provides Databricks AI agents with programmatic access to the Dawiso data catalog platform. Agents can search metadata, traverse lineage graphs, manage data governance workflows, and retrieve business context - enabling autonomous data operations grounded in organizational knowledge.
Dawiso is a metadata management platform that combines technical data catalogs, business glossaries, and data lineage tracking. This MCP integration exposes that knowledge layer to AI agents through structured tool calls.

**Use cases**
- Collaborative Data Discovery
- Agents act as intermediaries between users and the catalog: answering questions about data assets, explaining business terms, finding subject matter experts (via user relations), and surfacing relevant documentation or comments from previous discussions.
- Autonomous Metadata Management
- Agents search for data assets by business meaning, technical characteristics, or governance status. They retrieve complete object details including attributes, relationships, lineage, and workflow state—then create documentation, update definitions, or flag quality issues without human intervention.
- Lineage-Aware Impact Analysis
- When changes are proposed to data assets, agents traverse lineage graphs to identify downstream dependencies, assess impact scope, and notify affected stakeholders. They can search graph nodes by direction (upstream/downstream) and filter by metamodel type (data lineage, business process, data product).
