Ecological corridors are functional links allowing connections (thus the possibility of exchange) between biodiversity reservoirs. These are potential pathways for species. Ecological corridors thus connect biodiversity reservoirs with each other by preferentially crossing areas of high permeability. Ecological corridors do not necessarily consist of “remarkable” habitats and are usually spaces of ordinary nature.
