Studies on the development of collective self-identification of the inhabitants of the Polish-Russian frontier (1918-1956): scientific inquiry in London

The material presented here includes data on archival and library collections that were analysed during the study. As the collected collections are further developed, the data will be updated.This online data collection is part of an ongoing research project titled Studies on the Development of Collective Self-Identification of the Inhabitants of the Polish-Russian Frontier (1918-1956). Conducted in London, this research explores how the inhabitants of the Polish-Russian frontier region shaped and evolved their sense of collective identity during a politically tumultuous period spanning the years 1918 to 1956.The project seeks to understand the cultural, political, and social factors that influenced the self-perception of the populations living in this border region, which experienced frequent changes in territorial control, shifting allegiances, and ideological transformations due to the broader geopolitical conflicts of the time, including World War I, World War II, and the early Cold War.
