Characteristics of disability benefits (from 01-01-2018)

This component contains information on benefits granted under the Incapacity Insurance Act (WAO), the Work and Income according to Work Capacity Act (WIA), the Act on Incapacity Insurance for Self-employed Persons (WAZ), the Young Disabled Persons’ Disabled Persons Act (Wajong) and the Act on Work and Employment Support for Young Disabled Persons (Wet Wajong). Key features that appear in the file: sums paid, degree of incapacity for work, cause of incapacity for work. Each record in the file represents a disability benefit to a beneficiary. The Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act (WIA) has been the successor to the Work Incapacity Insurance Act (WAO) since 2006, which remains in force for persons who became incapacitated before 2004. The WIA consists of two schemes: — the & Income insurance full and permanent incapacity for work ' (IVA); — the 'Resumption of partially workable persons ' (WGA). From 1 August 2004, self-employed persons who become ill on or after that date will no longer be entitled to a benefit under the WAZ. For those who already have WAZ benefits, nothing changes. With effect from 1 January 2010, the Act on Work and Employment Support for Young Disabled Persons (Wet Wajong) entered into force. The &old " Wajong will continue to apply to young people who have applied for benefits before 1 January 2010. This means that there has been no correction for information that has been complied with (the so-called administrative delay). The reporter submits a monthly integral statement of the population. As a result, no estimate or increase is required. ### Population The population of the component consists of all incapacity benefits which were at any time in the reporting month or for which an additional payment has been made after the end of the entitlement to benefit.
