Ponds provide habitats for diverse organisms and serve as water sources for animals. Viruses present in pond water may infect various hosts beyond their original ones. Therefore, investigating pond water viromes is important. In this study, we collected pond water samples in Yokosuka City, Japan, and conducted metatranscriptomic analysis.
