SDG 12.c.1 Fossil fuel subsidies consumption and production as a proportion of total GDP

This dataset reports estimated fossil-fuel subsidies for consumption and production in Qatar as a percentage of total gross domestic product (GDP). The value is calculated by dividing the estimated subsidy amount by total GDP and multiplying by 100. For example, a value of 2 means that the estimated subsidy amount is equivalent to 2 per cent of GDP. The measure is not the share of government expenditure. Under the official SDG methodology, fossil-fuel subsidies may include direct government transfers and induced transfers through price support; tax expenditures, other revenue foregone, and under-pricing may also be included when available. The uploaded observations are classified as estimates. The dataset covers the period from 2010 to 2024.
