At necropsy, various tissues were collected from terminally anesthetized animals, including lung, liver, kidneys and adipose depots. Total adipose depot weight is comprised of subcutaneous adipose (i.e., inguinal and shoulder adipose fat pads), and intra-abdominal depots, including epididymal, mesenteric, and perirenal fat pads. Chow mass was measured daily and n = 8 for each diet, numbers reflect averages and standard deviation for each group.
