It is also a key member of NASA's "A-Train" constellation. It passes the equator (ascending node) at approximately 13:50 local time, about 20 minutes after the Aqua satellite. The Aura satellite is equipped with four limb-scanning instruments: the High Resolution Dynamics Limb Sounder (HIRDLS), the Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS), the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), and the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES).
