This dataset was collaboratively developed by the University of South Florida and the University of Florida, focusing on time-temperature recording during the cold chain transportation of strawberries. The dataset contains temperature distribution data from 6 cross-continental strawberry shipments across the continental United States. Data was collected from 9 distinct positions: top, middle and bottom of pallets, as well as rear, middle and front of transport containers, using three vertically deployed data loggers installed in each shipment, resulting in a total of 54 measurement points. Data collection starts at the moment of field harvest, with a sampling interval of 5 to 10 minutes, and data is regularly uploaded via cellular radio integrated on the devices. This dataset is intended to support researchers and educators in fields including food engineering, cold chain logistics, machine learning and data mining to resolve temperature control challenges during food transportation.
