Perceived Forest Ecosystem Services in Europe - Supply, Demand, Profitability and Innovative mechanisms

This dataset contains the results from a Pan-European survey targeting forest owners and managers over their perceptions of supply and demand over 11 forest ecosystem services (FES). Responses were asked for the location of the forest they owned/managed. Additionally, the survey contained questions related to the relative income contribution of provisioning, regulating and cultural FES, their profitability, the evolution of the demand for those FES categories in the last decades and whether there has been any innovation or not in the forests they managed/owned in the last 2 decades. In case the respondents answered yes, the respondents were asked about the factors hindering or enabling the development of those innovations. The survey was carried out using the platform Maptionnaire. The survey was translated into 18 European languages and distributed in November-December 2019. The survey was translated The database contains 1788 valid responses, from which 922 gave the location of their forests. A total of 1139 respondents answered the section related to forest innovations.
