INGV SISMIKO Emergency Seismic Network for Pietrapaola Sequence 2024 (Southern Italy)

On 01-08-2024 at 19:43:19 UTC the INGV recorded an event of Magnitude ML=5.0 located 4 km SW of the Municipality of Petrapaola (CS), Southern Italy (coordinates: 39.47° N - 16.78° E, depth 24 Km).
A few minutes after the earthquake, the SISMIKO operational group, the coordination of the INGV emergency seismic networks, was activated. SISMIKO has prepared and implemented in the following hours, the installation of seismic mobile network, equipped with short-period velocimeters and accelerometers, to support the permanent network (FDSN code= IV, doi: https://doi.org/10.13127/SD/X0FXNH7QFY). All the stations, whose data were transmitted in real time, had been integrated into the INGV seismic monitoring and surveillance system and made available to the scientific community, without any restrictions via EIDA Italy node.
