Tombstones Dantesche

The 33 tombstones of the Divine Comedy are located along the facades of some palaces of the City of Florence. That of Dante’s Lapides is a project whose origin dates back to the beginning of the last century on the initiative of the Municipality of Florence, when they were placed in the early 1900s after being screened by a specially constituted Commission.A more than a century later, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, the Municipality of Florence wants to pay tribute to the Supreme Poet by making available to citizens the information and data that the Administration possesses about it, with the aim of facilitating the reading of the link between the Poet and the city through the reading of passages of the Divine Comedy placed in places that evoke those same tertine.
