Comparison of OpenAlex and Scopus Coverage of German Institutions' Publications in Top-tier Journals. Supplementary materials

This is a dataset of OpenAlex and Scopus paper counts for a manuscript 'Comparison of OpenAlex and Scopus Coverage of German Institutions’ Publications in Top-tier Journals'. Main data is in the Excel file along with the queries and IDs necessary to recreate the dataset, which requires access to the free tiers of Scopus and OpenAlex APIs. It is structured as two tables (one per database) with organisations and years in rows and academic journals in columns, so that a cell contains a count of papers for a given database, journal, year and organisation. It does not contain any paper metadata (citations, authors etc).

We also share python scripts for replicating data collection that are described in a dedicated readme.md. Note that for OpenAlex you have to update auth to use API key as the code uses email auth that was deprecated after data collection.
