In this work we have obtained high quality whole transcriptome 454 reads (Titanium System, Roche Applied Science) from an adult and newborn individuals of Crotalus simus from Costa Rica as well as miRNA enriched libraries using Ion Torrent sequence technology (Life technologies, chip 314).A global characterization of the whole transcriptome reads was carried out according to the workflow we used in previous studies in order to find out whether the different proteome composition between individuals could be explained by different mRNA composition.
