GES contours sound (Lden) — rail traffic

ProRail is responsible for the sound maps that give insight into the noise load caused by rail transport in the Netherlands. This dataset contains data from the province of Utrecht. Based on the information from all countries, the European Commission provides a picture of the whole of Europe. The noise load due to rail traffic (Lden) has been translated into GES (Health Effect Screening) contours and displayed on maps. All homes and sensitive destinations that are located in the various GES contours have also been pictured. The aim is to understand bottlenecks in the current situation and the risks present in new developments.
