Knowledge regarding the current state of the environment and environmental issues can serve as a basis for future action. This study recruited elementary school students in Grades 1–2 as subjects, to explore the effects of environmental knowledge on young children's pro-environmental behaviors via ecological worldview and the spillover effect on wild animal conservation. The results show that environmental knowledge has positive influence pro-environmental behaviors through the mediating role of ecological worldview; meanwhile, ecological worldview also have a downstream positive effect on children's wild animal conservation intention, signifying a spillover effect of environmental knowledge which does not directly involve wild animals and its conservation. Accordingly, we discuss the implications for young children's environmental education practices
