Reproductive seasonality, is one of the major factors affecting buffalo farming profitability. Despite the evidence of seasonal effects on oocyte developmental competence the molecular characterization of the follicular environment has not yet been investigated. Follicular fluid (FF) contain extracellular vesicles (EVs) playing an important role in modulating oocyte developmental competence and carrying microRNAs (miRNAs) essential for in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes.Therefore, this work characterized the FF-EVs-miRNA cargo of antral (An) and preovulatory (pO) buffalo follicles collected in different breeding seasons.
