资源简介:
This dataset supports the manuscript titled “ Mapping Urban Heat and Social Vulnerability in New York City: An Integrated Geospatial Analysis.” It includes processed rasters, tabular data, and analytical scripts used to evaluate vegetation (NDVI), land surface temperature (LST), and socio-demographic vulnerability across New York City in July 2024.
Contents• Rasters (GeoTIFF): Land Surface Temperature (°C) derived from the USGS Landsat 8/9 Collection 2 Level-2 Surface Temperature product, NDVI computed from SR_B5 and SR_B4 bands, and a combined NDVI-LST composite. All layers are clipped to the New York City boundary and projected to EPSG: 2263.• Tables (CSV/Excel): Zonal statistics by borough and land-cover class, NDVI-LST relationships, temperature summaries, and socio-demographic overlays (populations aged 65 and older and those below the poverty line).• Scripts: Google Earth Engine (GEE) script for NDVI and LST processing/export, and ArcGIS Pro workflow documentation detailing clipping, masking, reclassification, and zonal-statistics steps.• Documentation: Workflow diagram and README files for transparency and reproducibility.
Notes• NDVI classification: sparse (≤ 0.20), moderate (0.20 – 0.40), dense (> 0.40). Pixels with NDVI < 0 were masked as NoData (water, shadows, or impervious areas). A “very dense” class (> 0.60) represented ≈ 0.02 % of the land area and was merged into the “dense” category.• LST visualization classes: 21 – 30 °C, 31 – 40 °C, 41 – 50 °C, > 50 °C.• Data processing was completed in Google Earth Engine (Gorelick et al., 2017), with additional post-processing and visualization performed in ArcGIS Pro.
This dataset complements the manuscript submitted to Urban Research & Practice and is intended for open scientific use, reproducibility, and educational purposes.
