Data and analysis files from "Flowing round the world: Water snakes (Natricidae) show habitat-driven adaptive radiation after colonization of the Americas"

Phylogenetic comparative analysis of Natricidae (water snakes) aimed towards understanding their evolutionary dynamics after colonising the Americas. Analyses include confirmation that natricids dispersed to the New World only once (historical biogeographic analysis with RASP), that this was associated with a burst of diversification (estimation of diversification rates and shifts with BAMM), and that the New World clade is characterised by accelerated rates of evolution of broad habitat categories but not body size or broad diet categories (estimated of rate shifts for body size with BAMM and for diet and habitat categories with phytools in R)
