Supplementary Data A shows that meta-data for 249 paired (drained vs. near-pristine peatlands) annual CH4 measurements in the terrestrial portion of peatlands using chamber method were extracted from 58 studies, including 133-paired direct annually measured fluxes and 116-paired upscaled annual fluxes, as well as associated environmental variables.
Supplementary Data B shows that meta-data for 107 annual CH4 measurements in peatland ditches using chamber method was extracted from 36 studies, along with associated environmental variables and the fraction of peatland ditch.
Supplementary Data C shows meta-data for 24 paired (drained vs. near-pristine peatlands) annual CH4 measurements in peatlands using eddy covariance method were extracted from 4 studies, as well as associated environmental variables.
Supplementary Data D shows that annual and seasonal CH4 flux data in peatlands were classified according to climate zones, land-use types, peatland types and nutrient supply types to upscale seasonal fluxes to annual fluxes.
