A Commentary (ممزوج), or Paraphrase of the Koran, by MUḤAMMAD b. Aḥmad b. Naṣîr..,1 styled التفسیر المحمدی, and composed in A. H. 981-2, according to the author’s conclusion, which runs as follows [ed note: and wherein the author supplies the date for the completion of the work in AH 982 = 1574-75 CE).
و قد اتفق اتمام هذا التفسیرالمشتمل علی ربط کل آیة بآیة اخری رباطا تامّاً الموسوم بالتفسیر المحمدی فی الشهر الرمضان فی یوم الاثنین و اسال الله سبحانه ان یعم نفعه للطلاب و لا یخلّی سعی من نظر فیه من الاجر و الثواب و کان ابتداؤه فی شهر شعبان فی السنة ۹۸۱ التسعمائة و الاحدی و الثمانین و اختتامه فی السنة ۹۸۲ التسعمائة و الاثنتین و الثمانین
The preface begins:
الحمدلله الذی انزل علی عبده الکتاب معجزا قائما علی امر الدور
Well written, by Shâh Muḥammad b. Kabîr Muḥammad, and dated 28 Ṣafar, 1013 (= 26 July 1604 CE). Coloured lines round each page.
