Telecardiology Assessment of Patients Undergoing Non-Cardiac Surgery

This dataset contains de-identified routine-care data from adult patients referred for telecardiology preoperative cardiovascular assessment before non-cardiac surgery at the Telemedicine Department of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, São Paulo, Brazil, between May 2021 and March 2024. The data support the study “Telecardiology Assessment of Patients Undergoing Non-Cardiac Surgery” and include 3,476 teleconsultations performed within a public telemedicine network serving primary care facilities in remote and underserved Brazilian regions. Variables include institution and city of origin, consultation identifier and completion date, patient age and sex, first consultation or follow-up status, referral reason, structured and free-text clinical history, main and secondary ICD-10 codes, functional information, complementary tests requested, medical recommendations, and consultation outcome. The dataset was extracted from the institutional medical records database using a software-based algorithm and anonymized before analysis. It was used for a retrospective descriptive evaluation of patient clinical profile, type of surgery, perioperative cardiovascular risk assessment, requested ancillary testing, clinical interventions, and teleconsultation outcomes.
