These certificates record the name; port of registry and official number, and registered tonnage of the steamship; the name of the master and the number of his certificate; the number of persons and crew it is deemed fit to carry; details of boats, life-saving appliances and equipment required to be carried; the authorised maximum pressure on the safety valves of the main boiler; the running number of the certificate; and the date of issue and expiry.
